Shturmovshchina

Shturmovshchina

Shturmovshchina (last-minute rush) a common Soviet Union work practice of low output during the beginning of the month, followed by frantic work pace at the end of the month in order to fulfill the monthly production target. The practice usually gave rise to products of poor quality at the end of the cycle.Derived from German "Sturm" (Storm), possibly from the attack practice of the Nazi storm troopers - "Sturm Abteilung".
