Simon Groom (born August 12, 1950) is a British television presenter and former disc jockey, best known as a former presenter of "Blue Peter".

Groom was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, [cite web|url=http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0343159/ |title=Simon Groom biography| publisher=IMDb| accessdate=2008-10-11] Verification failed and was brought up on a farm in Dethick, which he often visited for Blue Peter reports. He then attended Birmingham University and worked briefly as an English teacher before becoming a disc jockey and joining "Blue Peter" in 1978.

Groom's many co-presenters on "Blue Peter" were Lesley Judd, John Noakes, Christopher Wenner, Tina Heath, Peter Duncan, Sarah Greene, Janet Ellis and Michael Sundin.

He became known among the programme's production team for his ability to ad lib innuendo in his broadcasting (which would pass the programme's main audience of children unnoticed). Probably his most famous such statement was at the end of a piece on a replacement door knocker at Durham Cathedral declared that together they were a lovely pair of knockers. Another classic remark followed a piece about hedge maintenance where he closed with the remark, "Yes, Sarah, if you want a good lay, you need a good length." After leaving Blue Peter, Simon spent several years with BBC Three Counties Radio as the mid-morning and later the mid-afternoon presenter [cite news| url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/threecounties/content/articles/2005/09/29/local_radio_3cr_behind_the_scenes_feature.shtml|title=Behind the Scenes!| publisher=BBC Three Counties Radio|date=2005-09-29] , following which he presented Groom's Gold - "two hours of great music and nostalgia to brighten your weekend" - for BBC Radio Sheffield.
