Early Life and Background

Corban Wilkin was born in 1990 in Colchester Hospital, which is now closed. He lived in West Bergholt until the age of fourteen, when in January 2005 he and his family moved to Shrub End, Colchester. Here he remained until in early 2007, when his family moved to Hereford; wanting to stay in Colchester at least until the remainder of his college education, Wilkin decided not to reside in the West English county with his mother, brother and step-father, and take up residence with his best friend Samuel Christopher Bone in the Essex town of Colchester, where his sister and nephew also reside.

Between the years 2001-2006, Corban Wilkin attended the Colchester Royal Grammar School where he obtained eleven GCSEs including: three A*s seven As and one B. Wishing for a change of scenery Wilkin decided not to continue further education in the sixth form of his former school, but instead transferred to the Sixth Form College, Colchester [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixth_Form_College_Colchester] ; where he obtained A-Levels in: Art, Graphics, Philosophy and English. Wilkin is to begin a degree in illustration at Middlesex University, [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middlesex_University] London [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London] in September 2008.

Wasp and Bee

[http://www.indyplanet.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=494 Wasp and Bee] was Wilkin's first published graphic novel, he wrote and illustrated it in ten days between May 27th and June 5th 2007 and was first published on September 1st 2007. The book follows the life of a wasp [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasp] (Alex) who falls for the a bee [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bee] princess (Padma). There is much intolerance when it comes to different species forming relationships and so seeing how unhappy Padma is; Alex comes up with a plan to run away with the princess to a place where they will be accepted; a place called 'the meadow'. When they reach this place of bliss however, Alex is made aware the of fact that his love for Padma is not returned and so their relationship is never to be.

Inheritance

[http://www.indyplanet.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=750 Inheritance] is a series of comic books illustrated by Corban Wilkin and written by Samuel Christopher Bone. The plot begins with the death [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death] of Lord Edward Robert Beddingham, after which disputes over who should inherit his equity [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equity] erupt. Currently only chapter one has been published, however both chapters two and three have been completed and are ready for publishing.

This comic took a lot longer for Wilkin to illustrate [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illustrate] than Wasp and Bee, and in the book he mentions that it didn't turn out exactly as he has thought it would, however he does go on to say 'but I like how it looks'. In parts of the book he used different types of pens and styles of drawing to make the overall appearance of the comic rather quirky.
