Lipke Bijdeley Holthuis (
April 21 1921 -March 7 2008 ) is a Dutch ] .Holthuis was born in
Probolingo ,Java and obtained hisdoctorate fromLeiden University in 1946. He was appointed the assistant curator of the "Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie" (now "Naturalis ") inLeiden in 1941.
