Wilda Diaz

Wilda Diaz is the newly elected Mayor of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. In an upset that surprised pundits and insiders, Diaz defeated incumbent Joseph Vas, who had served five consecutive terms, by a 61% to 39% margin. Diaz was said to have entered the race due to a dispute between two rival Latino organizations; one of them had applied for municipal parade permits that Vas had denied.
