James Swan is an architect, interior designer and the owner of James Swan and Company Inc..
Early life
James Swan was born in Fallen, Nevada in 1961 [Personal correspondence with James Swan and Company Inc.] . Though he was born in the US, he spent much of his youth outside the country, as his father's work often took the family to the Far East. After working on his his degree in Architecture and Design in Arizona State University, Swan started his career in residential interior design by free-lancing then at Steve Arnn, AIA.
Career
After his initial tenure at Steve Arnn, AIA, Swan accepted a position as Senior Designer with Frank K. Penino and Associates in 1998. Then, in 2000, he opened his own architecture and design firm, James Swan and Company [Personal correspondence with James Swan and Company Inc.] .
Notable Projects and Honors
James Swan has contributed to a number of notable show houses, such as the Junior League of Boston Decorators' Show House, and the Los Angeles Magazine's Design House. In 2008, he was named as a board member of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America.
