- Queen Carnival
The first provincial Queen Carnival in
New Zealand was held inDunedin in 1915, and sebsequently inAuckland where this carnival was held on "Queens Wharf". During the 1900s periodAustralia had it's own Queen Carnivals in various towns and cities around the country. The Queen Carnival tradition has been carried to other countries, includingFiji andMalta .The carnival's include elements of
Talent show s,Fancy dress ,Sport and the sale of local produce.Initially the Queen Carnival was organised to to raise funds for the wounded solders returning from
