The station was opened by the
North Eastern Railway , becoming part of theLondon and North Eastern Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The station then passed on to theEastern Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948.The station was then closed by the
British Railways Board .The site today
There is a large building on the platform which still exists.
