- New Moose Jaw Arena
New Moose Jaw Arena is a description of a new multi-purpose
arena inMoose Jaw, Saskatchewan ,Saskatchewan ,Canada currently in the planning stages. It will hostcurling andice hockey and will be home to theMoose Jaw Warriors of theWestern Hockey League . It should be completed in2010 and seat 4,500 spectators. It will replace the Warriors current arena, theMoose Jaw Civic Centre .The entire project will cost about $60 million, with the city of Moose Jaw paying $34.5 million. Provincial and federal governments will pay $8 million and community fundraising will committ to $10 million.
However, the project is currently mired in controversy, with no commitment yet of federal funding and pending legal action against the city's contribution of more than the $15 million authorized in a city referendum from November of 2006.
