Ferial Masry

Ferial Masry is a Democrat currently running for California State Assembly in the 37th District. She is the author of "Running for All the Right Reasons: A Saudi-born Woman's Pursuit of Democracy", forthcoming from Syracuse University Press.

Masry became the first Saudi American to run for political office in U.S. history when she campaigned for California State Assembly in 2004. Her run was covered by The New York Times, Associated Press, and led to an interview with Peter Jennings.
