OpenGL game created by Daniel Nelson based on "Tetris Attack " for theSuper Nintendo . It is available forLinux , Windows, andMac OS X licensed under theGNU General Public License . The Mac OS X version of the game was ported by Jeff Disher, but another port of the game for Mac was done by Daniel Aarno, who has named his version "Mac Crack Attack!". Aarno's "Mac Crack Attack!" includes features such as sound and full screen mode, while Disher's port does not. It is included in all major Linux distributions.Since version 1.1.10, the project has been adopted by Andrew Sayman, who has released the latest version of the game "(1.1.14)" for Linux and Windows. The latest version includes sound by Miguel Ángel Vilela, extremely low graphics mode, VS computer modes and other various bug fixes.
The name was chosen to indicate the game's addictive nature [cite web |url=http://pkgsrc.se/games/crack-attack |title=Crack Attack! - The NetBSD package collection |accessdate=2008-01-09 ] , referring to the drug
crack cocaine . This is borne out by the experience of users. [cite news

* Solo Mode - The player plays alone in order to obtain the highest score possible.
* Two Player Mode / VS computer - Instead of a score, a game clock appears, in which the opponents attempt to survive the longest against each other.
* X-treme Mode - The same gameplay as the normal modes, but includes new types of garbage and blocks.Concept
The player must keep a rising stack of blocks from reaching the top of the screen. The stack of blocks will rise slowly at first, but quicken as time goes on. The player must eliminate blocks by matching three or more equal blocks (of the same color) together. If the blocks reach the top of the screen, the player will have 7 seconds to reduce the blocks before losing. Whenever a block is eliminated, or when garbage is being converted to blocks, the stack of blocks will stop rising momentarily and the time bar will be paused. When the 7-seconds limit is reached, the player will only have one second to eliminate blocks as a last chance to reset the time counter. If all the garbage is eliminated and there are no blocks in contact with the top of the screen, the time bar will be set to the initial state again.
Garbage is generated through combos or block eliminations greater than 3 blocks (except for grey-colored blocks, which generate grey garbage even when only 3 blocks are eliminated). When playing against a human opponent, any garbage generated by one falls on the other. When playing in solo mode, the garbage falls on the player. Once garbage falls on the players side, it can be eliminated by successfully combining, and thus eliminating, any blocks that are in contact with it.
Combos/Chains
"Combos" or "chains", are performed when one block elimination directly leads to more eliminations. This leads to the score from eliminating the blocks being multiplied – the longer the combo, the higher the combo multiplier becomes. Once a combo is finished, garbage will fall, the amount being proportional to the combo multiplier. The highest multiplier one can achieve on-screen is x12, however this is only a graphical limitation, and the garbage generated keeps increasing further as more combos are executed consecutively after the x12 is reached.
