"MTV Splitsvilla", is a television reality show on MTV India. "Splitsvilla" is one of its kind hunt for love show in the locales of Goa. Two boys, viz. Varun Saini, a participant of "MTV Roadies 5.0" and Vishal Karwal, of "MTV Roadies 4", find the ultimate girl of their dreams by choosing from 20 girls by putting them through gruelling tests. The girls battle stress, politics, exhaustion, fear and bitchiness to be the chosen one and avoid humiliation of getting dumped. The two boys dump from these girls every week after which those dumped girls have to leave the show and move back to their homes.

The tagline of this show is "Where Love is War" and it is hosted by Rannvijay Singh, the winner of MTV Roadies 1.0.

Of the final three (Shraddha, Heena and Prianca), Shraddha emerged as the winner and became the queen of "Splitsvilla". Shraddha then goes on to choose Vishal. Though the decision wasn't finally Shraddha's. Vishal, the champion was challenged by Varun, the challenger. They had to fight over 3 contests and the winner of 2 out of 3 was to be declared the ultimate winner. Vishal came out a clear winner by winning the first two in which the first victory saw Vishal beating Varun in Varun's territory.

Critical Reception

Though not widespread, there have been protests against this show by a sizable number of people. The main arguments against the show revolve around the way the girls are 'looked at' by the 'boys'. The members of the show use rather unacceptable means, which under circumstances would amount to mental agony and emotional depression. Fears that the show could be changing the way men and women treat each other have been largely ignored and unanswered. Some allege that the long term social changes, and the foreseeable risks have not been taken into consideration by the producers of the show. And the way women are objectified is also objectionable according to some.
