Kulubi is a town in eastern
Ethiopia . Located in theMisraq Hararghe Zone of theOromia Region , lying south ofDire Dawa , this town has a latitude and longitude of coord|9|26|N|41|41|E|region:ET-OR_type:city(4478)|display=inline,title with an elevation of 2130 meters above sea level.Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, Kulubi has an estimated total population of 4,478 of whom 2,318 were males and 2,160 were females. woreda .Kulubi is known for its massive church, dedicated to St. Gabriel, which is the destination for twice-yearly
pilgrimage s (on26 July and28 December ). The present church was erected in1962 , replacing oneRas Makonnen had erected to celebrate the Ethiopian victory in theBattle of Adwa .
