The British National Championship is a year long professional wrestling tournament, organised by , that started in September 2007,[cite web|url=http://www.ipwuk.com/events/bnc/index.php | title=British National Championship | accessdate=2008-06-19] with the final being held at The Great Hall in Bromley on October 26th 2008][cite web|url=http://www.ipwuk.com/events/2008-10-26.php | title=IPW:UK - British National Finale | accessdate=2008-09-30] .]There are 54 wrestlers participating in six rounds of matches, with the overall winner being crowned the new holder of the British National Championship. Due to the National status, reigning and defending All-England and National Under-23 Champions must also defend their titles in each round; however, the reigning champions (Andy Boy Simmonz, Terry Frazier, Sha Samuels and Sam Slam) were seeded through to the second round automatically. As a result, the winner of this tournament will also finish as the current reigning and defending All-England Champion and, age permitting, possibly Under 23's Champion also.
