Sweet Relief Fund

"Sweet Relief Musicians Fund" is a non-profit charity that maintains a financial staple from which professional musicians can draw from when in need of medical care. Applicants must be able to prove that they make their primary living as a musician, and they are unable to work because of illness, disability, or age-related problems. The organization was started after musician and singer Victoria Williams fell ill with Multiple sclerosis in 1994 and had no way to pay for her own overwhelming medical expenses. Money was raised to help her via benefit concerts and the release of a being performed by other musical artists including Lou Reed and Pearl Jam.

A second tribute CD was released in 1996, this time with a new batch of artists covering the songs of musician Vic Chesnutt.
