Bruce Lloyd

Bruce Lloyd (born 24 February 1937) was an Australian politician. Born in Melbourne, he attended Geelong College and then the University of New England in Armidale, New South Wales. He became a farmer, first at Bacchus Marsh and then at Rochester. He was the President of the Victorian Country Party 1969-71. In 1971, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Country Party member for Murray in the by-election that followed the resignation of former Prime Minister John McEwen. On 23 July 1987 he was elected Deputy Leader of the National Party, a position in which he remained until 23 March 1993.
