The 2000 Open Championship was the 129th Open Championship held from July 20-23, 2000 at the Old Course at St Andrews in St Andrews, Scotland. Tiger Woods won his first Open Championship and fourth major championship by eight strokes over Thomas Bjørn and Ernie Els. With the victory, Woods broke Jack Nicklaus's record of being the youngest golfer ever to win all four of golf's major championships. Woods became the fifth player to complete the feat.
