It was built between 1890-1900 by
Kostaki Teophylaktov who was a famousbanker migrated fromCaucasia -Russia to Trabzon afterOttoman-Russia War 1877-78. When Trabzon was occuppied by Russian troops, they used this building as Russian Headquarters. After Russian departed from Trabzon, Kostaki had his properties following his Bankrupty, all his properties were boughtNemlizade Akif Kaptan Bey (1789-1945) who was famousmerchant in Trabzon.The mansion prepared for the First president of Turkey,
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his wife's Latife stayed on their first visit to Trabzon between 15-17 September1924 .The building was expropriated by the government when Ali Galip Bey worked as a governor in Trabzon. It served as the Governor's Hall between 1927-1931. After passing to the Ministry of Education it served as a Girl's Trade High School between 1937-1987 for fifty years.
