Djay Brawner (also noted as D. Jay Brawner or D.Jay Brawner) (Born June 21, 1981) is an American director of music videos and television.

Biography

Brawner, who was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He spent most of his free time filming skate videos with his friends and soon realized he wanted to do more. In 2000 he moved Southern California to pursue a career in film making. Shortly after attending Chapman University, Brawner met Derek Dale. Dale, a long time director of photography and music video director, took Brawner under his wing and taught him the ins and outs of video making.

Brawner has since branched out and has been directing music videos and commercials on his own.

Career

DJay Brawner has directed videos for Jackson United (Chris Shifflet from the Foo Fighters side project), Emery, Ginger Sling of Smashing Pumpkins, Mayday Parade, Mike Herrera's Tumbledown, My New Life, Hope Departed, The Action Design.

From 2005 to 2006, Brawner created, directed, and produced 26 episodes of a TRL like television show called Noise Link. It currently is airing in Syndication across the USA.

Brawner has also filmed Switchfoot, Gavin Degraw, Jesse McCartney, As I Lay Daying, Love Equals Death, Slick Shoes, Audio Karate, So They Say, Takota, Bayside, No Use for a Name, Copeland, Love Drug, House Of Fools, and many others.

Personal

Before being a video director Brawner played bass in Orange County ska punk band Wiggum. The band toured the country and played with many notable acts.

In college Brawner worked as an ice cream for Archie's Ice Cream in Orange, Ca.

DJay's cousin Theresa Schwegel is an award winning author.
