Sanford Kwinter

Sanford Kwinter is a Canada-born, New York-based writer and world-renowned architectural theorist, and a co-founder of the influential Zone Books publishers. Kwinter currently serves as a visiting associate professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. [1] He formerly served as an associate professor at Rice University in Houston, Texas, and also taught at MIT. Having received a doctorate in comparative literature from Columbia University, Kwinter lectured at Harvard University, the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam, and the Architectural Association in London. Over the past twenty years, his publications have pioneered new ideas in art, architecture, and the humanities. He has written widely on philosophical issues related to design, architecture, and urbanism, and was involved in the ANY series of conferences and publications. He is the author of "Architectures of Time: Toward a Theory of the Event in Modernist Culture" (MIT Press, 2001), and "Far from Equilibrium: Essays on Technology and Design Culture" (Actar, 2008).
