List of 2006 Major League Baseball all-stars

The by|2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 77th playing of the midseason exhibition baseball game between the all-stars of the American League (AL) and National League (NL), the two leagues comprising Major League Baseball. The game resulted in the American League defeating the National League 3–2, thus awarding the AL champion (which was eventually the Detroit Tigers) home-field advantage in the 2006 World Series.

In the National League, Brandon Webb, Brian McCann, Bronson Arroyo, Carlos Beltran, Chase Utley, David Wright, Derrick Turnbow, Freddy Sanchez, Matt Holliday, Ryan Howard, Tom Gordon, and Trevor Hoffman all made first all-star appearances. In the American League, Gary Matthews Jr., Grady Sizemore, Joe Mauer, Jose Lopez, Michael Young, and Scott Kazmir made first all-star appearances. Ivan Rodriguez made his eleventh all-star appearance, while Alex Rodriguez made his ninth. New York Yankees players Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter both have made multiple all-star appearances, receiving over two million votes to play third base or shortstop, respectively. For the outfield position, Vladimir Guerrero topped the list with 2,833,601 votes. In the National League, New York Mets players Jose Reyes, David Wright, and Paul Lo Duca topped the list for shortstop, third base, or catcher, respectively. Albert Pujols, received over three million votes, the most that year for any position, to play first base in the world series. Chase Utley, making his first all-star appearance, received 1,971,920 votes. Jason Bay was voted to play the outfield position 2,635,930 times, the most in that position that year.
