GetAbstract International Book Award

GetAbstract International Book Award

The getAbstract International Book Award is focused on non-fiction books that have made a significant impact worldwide. Each year, getAbstract's editors assess more than 10,000 English and German non-fiction books. From these, they select 10 finalists and four winners.

Since 2001, getAbstract has awarded the prize to several esteemed authors, including Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Robert Shiller, Benoît Mandelbrot and Chris Anderson (writer), as well as their publishers. Every year, the official awards ceremony takes place at the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany and is open to the public. Since 2001 the award ceremony has been moderated by Rolf Dobelli, getAbstract’s Chairman. The award has been covered by Financial Times [ [http://www.ftd.de/div/zeitung/presse/1276733.html Financial Times and getAbstract present the International Book Award] , October 8, 2001] Germany, Handelszeitung & The Wall Street Journal [ [http://www.handelszeitung.ch/artikel/Management-_1798.html Article in Handelszeitung Online & the Wall Street Journal] , October 10, 2007] , Handelsblatt [ [ http://www.handelsblatt.com/news/Konjunktur-%D6konomie/%D6konomische-Nachrichten/_pv/_p/302030/_t/ft/_b/1299981/default.aspx/oekonomie-20-fuer-buchpreis-nominiert.html getAbstract International Book Award] in Handelsblatt, July 26, 2007] , Bloomberg Television, and several other newspapers and magazines.
