The New South Wales Premier League is the highest State level men's football (soccer) division in New South Wales, Australia. Nationally, it is one grade lower than the A-League. The competition is conducted by Football NSW, the State organising body.

The restructure for 2006 reduced the number of teams from 12 to 10. Some criticisms have been made of the teams chosen to compete in the competition, one of which argues that the competition is too Sydney-centric(with the exception of Wollongong, all the teams are based in Sydney). St George Saints and Bonnyrigg White Eagles launched legal action against Football NSW, but were both unsuccessful in gaining admission to the competition.

In 2008 there will be a shake-up of the New South Wales men's, women's and youth competitions. There will be a restructuring of the youth teams, aligning them with their respective Senior Clubs. There will be also a restructuring of the men's senior competitions, including the addition of new teams to the NSW Premier League and a new promotion/relegation system. Two teams will be added: West Sydney Berries and Macarthur Rams.
