Albizures has held various leadership positions in Guatemalan human rights and labor organizations, including Director of Guatemala's Democratic Front Against Repression (FDCR), Director of the National Committee for Trade Union Unity (CNUS), and Secretary General of the National Worker's Central (CNT).
