Johannes Möller (1806 –

Münster . He was the son ofJacob Nikolaus Møller , an intellectual who had moved from Norway to which his father Hans Møller had migrated from Denmark. Johannes' paternal grandfather was a doctor of medicine, whereas his uncle Hans Eleonardus was a ship-owner. His brother Bartolomæus became a naval officer.Johannes' inclination towards the
humanities stemmed from his father, who had befriended the likes ofHenrik Steffens ,Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling andFriedrich Leopold zu Stolberg-Stolberg and also converted toCatholicism . Johannes Möller was appointed professor in history at theCatholic University of Leuven as early as 1834. His father received an honorary professorship in philosophy there in 1835.Johannes Möller died in December 1862, less than two weeks after his father.
