Pallavan Engineering College: (aka Pallavan College of Engineering) is a leading educational institution of Pallavan Educational Trust, located in Thimmasamudram, a suburban area of Kanchipuram, India. The college is located on the National Highway 4 of National Highways Authority of India.

History

Pallavan Engineering college was established as a private self-financed engineering college in 1997. Pallavan is amongst the top 15 private self-financed engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu [Tamil Nadu Engineering Colleges Ranking] . At the time of initiation, it was affiliated to University of Madras. Currently it is affiliated to Anna University. It offers 4 year engineering courses to students, who have completed 12 Std (Plus 2) and 3 year courses for students who have a 3 Year Technical Diploma and a SSLC certificate (Lateral Entry Students).

Campus

The college campus has 1 Soccer ground and 1 Cricket ground. All the grounds are huge. There are also Table Tennis (Ping Pong) tables within the college. The college also has a splendid auditorium, modern buildings, laboratories and a cafeteria to support its students and staff. It also offers student housing/hostel facilities within the campus.

Pallavan Alumni Association

The alumni of this renowned college are occupying various important positions in technology and business. Recently a dedicated web site (Pallavan Alumni [http://www.pallavan.in] ) has been created, to facilitate the interaction among the Alumni who are spread across the globe. The Alumni Association has initiated several activities some of them are Alumni scholarship guidance, award for international paper publication, sponsoring technical conferences, particpiating in social activities etc.,

Pallavan Alumni abroad: Pallavan Engineering College has a rich culture of students pursuing higher education in foreign countries. After completing their engineering degree at Pallavan, students go to USA, UK, Australia, Singapore, Korea, Far East and Europe for higher education. Many students are also employed in reputed firms in North America, Latin America, European Union, Africa, Australia, Singapore, Korea, Far East and Middle-East.

Close to 25% of students in ECE, Chemical, CSE, EEE, Mechanical & IT groups pursue higher education in foreign countries. Students start preparing for GRE during their third year of engineering and join foreign institutions during August/September of the same year they graduate. Some students prefer to work for one year before pursuing higher studies. The college faculty provide excellent infrastructure and recommendation letters to facilitate the pursuit of such education. The college atmosphere encourages and nourishes such pursuits.
