He currently resides in Great Neck, New York and is an English teacher for the Great Neck North High School. Baluyut is the head of the Community School, a selective alternative learning program within the high school for sophomores through seniors, where his students focus on mottoes such as "learning for the sake of learning," "satisfaction is a function of participation," and "safe space." Still in keeping with his old career, Baluyut can be seen playing alongside his students in many Community School events.

Family and music career

Edward Baluyut played along side his brothers Richard and James while in Versus for several years. Even though the brothers have split up and gone off on their own endeavours, they still have reunion tours as openers for other bands. Since his glory days playing the drums and occasional guitar, he has married Tina Baluyut and together they have two sons. One named Chistopher and the other Alexander.

Education

Edward usually tells his friends and students that he graduated college from "a small liberal arts school in Manhattan, practically in Harlem," instead of saying he graduated from Columbia University.

Teaching career

As an English teacher, Edward has inspired many new fans, his students. Edward has always had a close relationship with all of his students, acting more as a mentor than anything else. His attachment to the Community School has let him open up and encourage his students to follow their dreams to whatever they may be. His past adventures with music help his students, such as Adam Kantor, know that they can achieve any career as long as they work hard enough and keep up a proper education.
