The station was built by the
Nantwich and Market Drayton Railway , although this was amalgamated into theGreat Western Railway before its opening. The line passed on to theWestern Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948, and was then closed to passengers by theBritish Railways Board in 1951.Routes
