Gover Jaspes Le Buen was born in Maastricht, Netherlands to Pierre-Janko Le Buen and Marie Croche . Pierre-Janko was born in
Rotterdam and Marie was born somewhere between theHoly Roman Empire andVenice . Gover was taught at home by his mother but a freak accident took her life some where in 1650c. Gover's father, Pierre-Janko then taught Gover French and German to further expand his knowledge abroad. At age 31, Gover was working for a bakery in Maastricht.The Franco-Dutch War
In 1672, war broke out between The
Netherlands ,Spain , TheHoly Roman Empire andBrandenburg againstFrance ,England , TheArchbishpric of Cologne and theBishopric of Munster . Gover joined theDutch Forces and which was assigned to defend Maastricht. In 1673, the French army laid siege to Maastricht. Gover's squad leader was killed in battle so Gover took over and lead his men to attack the southern flank of the French army. Twenty men in Gover's squad were killed according to records. Gover survived and was given a medal for his bravery and leadership skills.Post War
After the war, Gover went back to baking but quit after his father drowned in
Amsterdam when he was working on a boating service. In 1698, Gover was elected to govern theCounty of Limburg in the Count's absence.Gover was governor til 1709 when a new count was found.Death
On the 16th of June, 1712, Gover died of unknown causes in Maastricht. He left behind a wife, Kathrine Le Buen and two children, Pierre-Janko and Andrea Le Buen. Gover is a nearly unknown hero of the Franco-Dutch war.
