Dr Philip R. Lane (b.
1969 ) is Professor of International Macroeconomics and Director of the Institute for International Integration Studies (IIIS) atTrinity College, Dublin . He received a doctorate inEconomics atHarvard University in 1995 and was an Assistant Professor of Economics and International Affairs atColumbia University during 1995-1997 before joining TCD in 1997. He is a research fellow of theCentre for Economic Policy Research and has been a visiting scholar at theInternational Monetary Fund and theFederal Reserve Bank of New York and a consultant to theEuropean Commission .
