Alshikhovo

Alshikhovo (also - Alzhikhovo) ( _ru. "Алшихово"; _cv. The first house in the village was built in the year 1928. The village is surrounded by a forest and a small river travels throught the village. It is located approximately 158m above sea level. At the beginning of its existence the village was part of a kolkhoz, and farming remains popular in the village.

Etymology

[http://alshikhovo.narod.ru/Portret.htm Many local residents] believe that the name originated from "Alshikh", the name of the person who founded the village, who was called Alshikh. May be that the village was named after a village with a similar name, Alshikhovo (Tatarstan, Russia). Alshikhovo of Tatarstan [http://www.ite.antat.ru/articles/punkt_a/a128.html was founded] in 1672, over 250 years before the creation of Alshikhovo of Chuvash Republic.
