Amanda Newton (born 8 April 1977 in London, England) [ [http://netballroadshow.co.uk/amandaprofile.htm International Netball Roadshow profile] ] is an English netball player. Throughout her career, Newton has played mostly goal defence (GD) but also wing defence (WD).

Retrieved on 2008-06-14.] Newton first captained the national team in 2003 in a test series against Jamaica. But later that year she ruptured her cruciate ligament, and was absent from the national team until 2005.
