Geoffry Hurry (
15 September 1868 –7 February 1951 ) was anAustralia n politician. Born inKyneton, Victoria , he attendedMelbourne Grammar School before becoming a solicitor. He served on Kyneton Shire Council before undergoing military service from 1915 to 1920. In 1922, he was elected to theAustralian House of Representatives as the Nationalist member for Bendigo, succeeding Prime MinisterBilly Hughes , who transferred to North Sydney, and defeatingEdmund Jowett , the Country Party member for the abolished seat of Grampians. Hurry held the seat until his defeat in 1929, after which he became a lawyer.
