The Red Line is one of the two lines on the Dubai Metro network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is currently under construction, and will have 29 stations spanning convert|52.1|km|mi|abbr=on|lk=on. The Red Line will run from Al Rashidiya to Jebel Ali and will travel along Sheikh Zayed Road for most of the length.

The Red Line will have 29 stations, including 24 elevated (by means of a viaduct), four underground stations, and one at ground level. The line will be convert|52.1|km|mi|abbr=on|lk=on long, with convert|4.7|km|mi|abbr=on underground. The entire journey time on the Red Line will be around 60 minutes, travelling at an average speed of convert|110|km/h|mi, with 20-30 seconds stopping time at each station. The average time between stations on the Red Line will be 60-90 seconds. The Red Line will be served by 62 driver-less trains.

Notable stations

There will be two transfer stations, Union Square and the BurJuman Centre, where the Green and Red Lines will intersect, allowing passengers to change between lines. Extension

Extension of the Red Line is currently under design. It will be extended from the Jebel Ali Free Zone to the Dubai-Abu Dhabi border, an additional convert|12|km|mi|abbr=on. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority is reviewing a plan to extend the Red Line from Jebel Ali to the Dubai World Central International Airport, which is currently under construction and expected to open with limited capacity in 2009.
