Konichiwa Records is a record label founded by Swedish pop singer Robyn. The label has no other artists signed than Robyn herself. "Konichiwa" is a misspelling of the Japanese greeting "Konnichiwa".

Robyn VS Jive

Robyn had fought with her former record label (Jive Records), as they did not like the sound of her new electro-pop material, her bosses did not like the sound of her song Who's That Girl (Which charted at 26 in the UK and 37 in Sweden). Robyn had then decided that she'd go it alone. In early 2005, Robyn announced she would be leaving Jive Records to start her own record label. Konichiwa Records was created, with its aim firmly set on liberating Robyn artistically. Uncharacteristically for a musician, Robyn revealed on her website that her new album would be released earlier than anticipated, and noted several fabled collaborators on the album including Klas Åhlund from Teddybears STHLM, Swedish duo The Knife and former Cheiron producer Alexander Kronlund.

Robyn's Next Move

Robyn made the decision to bring out a new album and 6 singles, This also lead to an international comeback with reasonably good charting positions in the U.S.A, the U.K and Sweden. She has also provided backing vocals for Britney Spears.She has also decided that she will not sign any artists onto this label as she does not want to be a big boss and she also wants to focus onto her music.
