Ray Higgs is an
Australia n formerrugby league footballer. A front row forward, he played club football for theParramatta Eels andManly-Warringah Sea Eagles in theNew South Wales Rugby Football League premiership .Originally from Roma, Higgs made his debut for the Australian national side in 1974. The following year he helped the Kangaroos to victory in the 1975 World Cup. After winning both the
Rothmans Medal and theRugby League Week player of the year award in 1976, he captained his club, theParramatta Eels , to that year's and 1977'sGrand Final s. Higgs continued representing Australia, featuring inThe Kangaroos ' triumph in the 1977 World Cup.External links
