Wenallt bunker

Wenallt bunker

Wenallt bunker is a disused bunker at the top of Wenallt Hill in Cardiff, Wales.

Originally used as the anti aircraft operations facility, it is now owned by BT as a store. Originally it was to become a War Room for Wales, taking over from Coryton but this idea was abandoned in the late 1970's. The bunker was mothballed for over a decade until it was broken into by local vandals and in recent years has been vandalised beyond all recognition.

Not too long ago (2007) it was an area for urban exploration as an interesting site, but the contents have since been burnt, although not by urban explorers but by the vandals that frequent the site.
