[http://www.australiaplants.com/Eucalyptus_cneorifolia.htm]It is grown in plantations for the production of
cineole basedeucalyptus oil . [Boland, D.J., Brophy, J.J., and A.P.N. House, "Eucalyptus Leaf Oils", 1991, ISBN 0-909605-69-6] On Kangaroo Island, there were over 100 stills for the production of eucalyptus oil from the narrow-leaf mallee, however, the distillation industry went into decline after the 1930s due to the greater profitiability of sheep farming. Today there is currently only one operating distillery on the island. [http://www.emuridge.com.au/history.php]References
