Los Angeles Krickets

Los Angeles Krickets, America's first cricket team of homeless players captained by David Sentance could not have been successful without he diligent help of Ted Hayes and Katy Haber.Leo Magnus,a team mate of David Sentance on the University Cricket Club in 1976 joined the Los Angeles Krickets coaching staff three months after the team was established in June 1995.

Growing the brand

From the Krickets came the Compton Cricket Club

The Los Angeles Krickets developed rapidly in capability through regular training and the use of ex-baseball, homeless players. With four regular Southern California Cricket Association experienced players the Los Angeles Krickets started their successful tour of England in September 1995.

Establishing a legacy

On their return from England where they played at Hambledon, the Los Angeles Krickets took a new direction when Disney signed up all members of the team for a film project. The publicity garnered by the tour was unprecedented in American cricket circles and included coverage by the BBC4, KTLA, ITV, SkyNews, The Australian The Daily Telegraph and numerous local newspapers in England and Australia.

The publicity established by the Los Angeles Krickets has subsequently been built on by the Compton Cricket Club, a club that first toured England in 1997.

A maverick Australian Hugh Snelgrove has been the Australian representative for the Compton CC since June 2006 gaining significant National attention of the teams plans to try and organise a tour to Australia.
