Salma Umm-ul-Khair

Salma Umm-ul-Khair

Salmā bint Sakhar ( _ar. سلمى بنت صخر) was the mother of Abū Bakr, the first Caliph. Salmā was the daughter of Sakhar ( _ar. صخر) and the wife of ˤUthmān ibn-Amīr (later known as "Abū Qahafa").

Sunni view

Sunnis honour her as Ummu l-Khayr "Mother of Goodness" ( _ar. أم الخير), referring to Abū Bakr, whom Muslims honour as and one of the The Ten Promised Paradise among Muhammad's early companions, the "Sahāba".
