Million Tree Initative

Million Tree Initiative can either refer to the Los Angeles Million Tree Initiative [ [http://www.milliontreesla.org/ Million Trees LA ] ] or the New York Million Tree Initiative [ [http://www.milliontreesnyc.org/html/home/home.shtml MillionTreesNYC ] ] . The programs are colloquially known as "Million Trees [city name] . Both of these cities have pledged to plant one million new trees within the city limits, but without giving a set deadline.

Founding

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa made Million Trees LA one of his campaign promises. The Los Angeles project is founded by a mix of federal money and municipal funding, charities, and corporate donations.
