El-Fers was a musician in the formations "Los Compañeros" (Latin American), "Nass el-Ghorba" (Moroccan), "
Tiq Maya " (Moroccan), "Medina" (pop), Atlal (folkrock). With this last group he scored in in1982 a number 1 hit inEgypt andSudan and performed in "El Alem Ghani" the Egyptian tv-show ofHamdia Hamdi .El-Fers wrote for the Dutch magazines Hitweek/Aloha,
De Groene Amsterdammer ,Nieuwe Revu ,Algemeen Dagblad , De Staatskrant and the Turkish newspaper Dünya.Together withRené Zwaap he foundedMokumTV , for years the best watched local show on the Amsterdam A1 television channel.El-Fers produced in
