Xocomecatlite is a telluride mineral found in cracks in altered rhyolite; it was first discovered in a mine in Moctezuma, Sonora, Mexico, and has also been seen in Utah, in the United States. Its description was approved in 1975. The name is derived from "xocomecatl", the Nahuatl word for "bunches of grapes", and alludes to the mineral's appearance as a set of green spherules.
