The Brindavan Gardens is a garden located in the state of

The Krishnarajasagara dam was constructed under the guidance of
Sir Mirza Ismail , theDewan (chief financial officer) of Mysore. As a part of beautification of the dam site, Sir Mirza Ismail conceived a plan of developing a garden in Mughal style with a design similar to that ofShalimar Gardens inKashmir . The work on this garden was started in 1927. It was constructed in aterrace d fashion and named Krishnarajendra Terrace Garden. The main architect for the park was G.H. The garden also hastopiary works (sculptures of animals created by clipping shrubs),pergola s (shaded passageway covered by creepers) andgazebo s. The main attraction of the park is the musical fountain in which bursts of water are synchronised to the music of songs. In the year 2003-2004, the gate collection was Rs. 2.07 crores, which increased to Rs 2.69 crores in 2004-05 and Rs 4.3 crores in 2005-06. This revenue is shared between Cauvery Niravari Nigam and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) in the ratio 3:1.
