Hamid Hassani or Hamid Hasani (حميد حسني in Persian) (born November 23, 1968 in Saqqez (سقّز), Kurdistan province, Iran) is an Iranian scholar and teacher, an expert on Persian, Arabic, and Kurdish prosody (metrics).

Graduated from The University of Tehran, 1992, he has published 6 books and 35 papers on Persian, Arabic, and Kurdish language and Literature. His last book (published in Tehran, 2005) is "The Most Frequent Words of Today's Persian" (including over 8,000 frequent words; based on a one-million-word corpus).

He has given two lectures in English and Persian in Oslo, Norway (September 1997 at the University of Oslo, Blindern and Kloden Institute, respectively) and a lecture in Persian in Dushanbe, Tajikistan (March 2006) at the Institute of Oriental Studies and Written Heritage of the Academy of Sciences.

He works now at The Academy of Persian Language and Literature, Department of Terminology, Tehran, Iran.
