Zhang Ping (politician)

Zhang Ping (Chinese: 张平; January 1946 - ) is the current chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, a prominent department within the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

Zhang was born in Xiao County, Anhui Province, and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in August 1979. The highest education he has received was equivalent to high school, a rarity among modern Chinese government officials.

He was an alternate member of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and a full member of the 17th Central Committee.
