"The Happening" is the soundtrack of the film of the same name. It was released on June 3 2008. This album is the sixth collaboration between composer James Newton Howard and Shyamalan. The main theme is a simple rhythmic motif of three notes followed by a grace note to the fourth note, sometimes played as a minor second, sometimes as a minor third. The soundtrack was recorded at the Sony Scoring Stage with The Hollywood Studio Symphony and features solos by Cellist Maya Beiser.
