Admir Smajić began his career with
Yugoslav First League clubFK Partizan in 1979. Whilst at Partizan he represented Yugoslavia at the1984 Summer Olympics inLos Angeles where they reached the semi-finals before being eliminated by France. In 1988 he moved toNeuchâtel Xamax in the Swiss Nationalliga A where he played for five years before joiningFC Basel in 1993. He then signed forBSC Young Boys in 1997 where he took up aplayer-manager role in 1998. He was sacked at the end of the season and he also retired from playing.External links
