With such recent successes as Roman of Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, Zhang has become one of the most well-known in Larger-Scale historical and Chinese Wuxia genre TV series nationally and even internationally. He certainly boasts an impressive record as a successful producer. Recent years, he continued to make various successful TV series including The Smiling, Proud Wanderer, Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, The Legend of Arching Hero, Love of the Condor Heroes, Sword Stained with A Royal Blood and The Deer And the Cauldron, which edited by a famous Wuxia novel author Louis Cha. As the first producer to filmize Louis Cha’s Wuxia novel into TV series, all of his arts of work achieved considerable successful in the broad areas where have Chinese, especially in South East Asia area. He managed to film good quality and valuable TV series, sealing his reputation as one of the national and international’s best TV series producers at the peak of his powers. Zhang produces varies successful TV series and collects valuable historical and Louis Cha’s WuXia TV series’ production experiences. For instance, He produces the TV series Romance of Three Kingdoms and Water Margin from the Four Chinese Classical Novel and the WuXia genre TV series: The Deer And the Cauldron. In 2008, Jizhong Zhang’s next big breakthrough with his Large-Scale historical biography TV series, Sun Tzu: The saint with The Art of War based on his profound perceives with four Chinese traditional philosophies (Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and Su Tzu’s philosophy). He is the first producer admit to produce filmized The Art of War which named Sun Tzu: The saint with the art of war. It will bring back the passion towards Chinese culture and humanism. Journey to the West is a mythical story, which has been passed down in China for hundreds of years from generation to generation. The story contains Chinese Confucian, Buddhist and Taoist culture, as well as provides entertainment based upon traditional Chinese culture. It is about the pilgrimage of a famous monk to India during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) in order to obtain Buddhist sutras by a group of Buddhists. The group consists of an almighty monkey—Sun Wukong (Monkey King), Zhu Bajie (Pigsty, a demon in the shape of a pig), Sha Seng (Sandy, a divine general punished by Heaven), and a white horse (changed from a dragon). It is a combination of magic realism, fairytale, heroism and adventure, Journey to the West has bridged language barriers and moved readers all over the world.
