Talevian

The Talevian Language is a constructed language created by K.M. Allen for personal and artistic reasons. Talevian was begun in 2002, and official indexing of dictionary entries began in 2003. Influences and development

The Talevian language project began under the name Taledras, a fictional language created by Mercedes Lackey for use in her fantasy novels. Taledras lent artistic inspiration and a small number of words and expressions for use in the much-extrapolated Talevian. Talevian incorporates the texture and cadence of Lackey's Taledras language with Latin, Welsh, and Gaelic linguistic patterns and roots.

In 2005, the grammatic structure of Talevian underwent major renovations; the creator and current engineer of the language felt changes were necessary to prevent Talevian from becoming an elaborate cipher of English.
